The 2026 offseason is underway

TEAM Warwick brought their teams to Omaha, Nebraska for the RecruitLook Omaha Showcase March 27-29. I will watch as many games as possible from the tournament and bring some recap and analysis on the top prospects and other observations I see.

We’ll start with TEAM Warwick 17U Warner, which is the program’s top 17U program coached by Cliff Warner.

The team has players predominantly from South Dakota, but they also have a player from North Dakota and one from Wyoming.

C3 Scouting caught two of their games online, with one being an impressive with over Arizona Unity 17U EYBL.

Brant Wassenaar - 6’4.5 - 2027 Guard - Sioux Falls Christian (SD) TEAM Warwick 17U Warner

Wassenaar is the team’s top prospect and the top prospect in South Dakota. He has D1 offers from Drake, South Dakota, and South Dakota State. In Omaha Wassenaar was very very impressive. He looks much more comfortable with the ball in hand and he was being the alpha and he knew he was the best player on the floor. He was the primary ball-handler and his ability to handle the ball cleanly under pressure from the legitimate length and athleticism of Arizona Unity EYBL was a takeaway. Arizona Unity’s quick and sturdy guards had trouble containing him as well as they threw a couple different type of defenders at him. He showed great overall speed with the ball and was able to get separation on the defense to score at the rim or kick to teammates if multiple defenders collapsed on him. He’s always been a great passer and he showed that as well by making long passes on a dime and seeing the floor and holes in the defense to find open teammates at the hoop. Wassenaar was aggressive from three as well and he didn’t pass many up. If he had a clean look he was putting it up. He shot well from three and showed desirable shooting range.

Defensively he’s so good and so solid and sound as well. He applies some pressure by mirroring the ball and he’s nearly impossible to get by off of the drive. He has mobile feet and uses his strength and length to contain the offensive player. He got in rebounding position off of the shot and was getting up for boards.

At the end of the Arizona Unity game, Wassenaar took matters into his own hands and had three layups where he blew by a lengthy defender that could move and also a quick, strong and sturdy guard. He got more comfortable and confident in his ability to take things over as the game progressed.

Introducing C3 Scouting’s underrated prospects in the Midwest. These prospects are of different value and are underrated given their respective states. For example, some of the Minnesota prospects are more highly-recruited than the South Dakota and North Dakota prospects.

Deon Wallace-Johnson (MN) 6’3 2027 guard, DeLaSalle High School

~ 13.3 points per game

DWJ is considered a top 20 2027 prospect in Minnesota, but I still think he’s getting undersold. Elite athlete with two-way ability. Crazy shot-blocker for a guard and extremely bouncy and explosive. When I complete the Minnesota 2027 rankings, he will be higher than you’d think.

You had to come to the game early to find a spot to sit at the Bismarck Century vs Bismarck High game Tuesday night. It was a packed house and C3 Scouting took the three hour drive to be there live, and it was well worth the trip.

In a back-and-forth game through it’s entirety, Bismarck High School came out on top 70-64. It was a slow game to start for the stud prospects but they eventually started making play after play. Very very fun game.

Ayuel Deng - 6’5 2026 Guard/Wing - Brandon Valley

The highlighter of the list. Not 100% sure on his commitment status but he’s long, lengthy, fluid, defensive disruptor and man-to-man lock-down. Elite mover and athlete with soft shooting touch in the midrange and his vert allows him to finish at the rim.

Colt Keiser - 6’6 2026 Forward/Big - Gregory

Having a breakout season. 20-20 lines with rebounds. Worth developing for a college with his length, rim-to-rim, and persistent motor and glass-work.

Trey Hansen - 6’4 2026 Guard - Vermillion (28 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists)

Hansen, as usual put up stats across the board in the win over Groton Area with a near triple-double, only two assists shy. He’s a rebound-and-go guard that pushes the tempo hard, where he’ll pass up the court or keep it on his own, going all the way into the lane. He looked exceptionally fast with the ball in the open court and weaving through the defense. He holds an offer from Morningside University.

In an NEC matchup, Groton Area handled Aberdeen Roncalli in the 2nd half to win 83-50. C3 Scouting looks at how the top performers looked.

Karson Zak - 6’0 2028 guard - Groton Area (18 points)

Karson put on a little bit of a show with three dunks, with two of them being alley-oops with the most impressive one was this one below. He ran the floor hard and at speed to get ahead of the defense for the dunk.

C3 Scouting is diving into some North Dakota high school girls ball. And in this article, we have a recap and evaluation on key players from the big matchup with two undefeated teams in Minot High School and Mandan High School competing. A game filled with a bunch of next-level talents, consisting of upperclassmen and up-and-coming prospects. Minot earns the 85-69 victory and remains the top team in the state. It should be noted that the high number of foul calls in this game was quite surprising, with the referees not allowing much contact. So foul trouble with some of the top players is a factor in this one.

Vermillion High School - 5’5 Point Guard

2028 point guard Taylor Reuvers is one of the most skilled and impactful girls players I’ve ever came across. Being 5’5 and getting a D1 offer means you have a serious skillset. Let’s look into her statistics after seven games into the season. They are eye-popping. The 6.4 steals stands out plus her 40% from three at high volume and the fact that she pulls NBA range threes, consistently.

This is not ranking the players and upperclassmen usually get the nod over the younger players in exercises like this. The goal with this is to put forth the most optimal lineup to win games. Some very good players are left off.

Blake Ellwein (6’10 2026 Guard) Huron

Ellwein’s rim protection and shot-blocking is really standing out as a key to Huron’s success. Huron isn’t a deep team but are near the top of the AA class and looking to make a run at state.

Sullivan Felberg (6’8 2028 Forward) Clark/Willow Lake

in the game I saw versus Sioux Valley, Felberg had a quiet first quarter, then starting the second quarter he started getting busy with 11 points in the second. He was a tough matchup for them with his length and scoring when he started taking over. I may need to consider moving him back to the #1 2028 spot.

Jordyn Kudera is a Freshman guard at Yankton High School who is already receiving varsity time. She scored 12 points in her latest game. She’s a college-level prospect and will develop her skills throughout the next few years.

C3 Scouting has been watching a good deal of Minnesota and South Dakota high school boys basketball so we have an update on some uncommitted college prospects that are raising their stock or that have been performing well lately.

Tyler Forrest (2027) 6’3 Point Guard - Chaska

It was expected that Tyler Forrest was going to have to score the ball more this season for Chaska to have success, but for him to be putting up the type of scoring numbers he is, most likely wasn’t predicted by many. He scored 40 points versus Eden Prairie.

D1 prospect

Kale Flees (2026) 6’3 Guard - Farmington

Nice-looking and athletic guard at 6’3. Plays fast, explosive, can handle the ball at speed.

Hamze Yusuf (2026) 6’1 Guard - Eden Prairie

Yusuf is lightning it up as a scorer for undefeated Eden Prairie. So offensively gifted. He can knockdown any shot even with a defender on him. can breakdown a defender with his handle.
