C3 Exposure: Castlewood transfer 6-foot-1 2028 guard Carson Kelly (SD) is steadily improving

Spencer Christenson — Thu, 15 Oct 2026 21:59:12 GMT

Carson Kelly (2028)

C3 Exposure met up with 6-foot-1 2028 South Dakota guard Carson Kelly of Castlewood High School and Heiser Skills Academy in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Kelly has worked with C3 Skills on multiple occasions.

Kelly transferred from small school class B Florence/Henry to also class B Castlewood High School. He will go from being the main and perhaps only go-to player at Florence/Henry to potentially the player and missing piece to secure Castlewood a state championship banner after losing to Freeman High School in the class B state championship game 53-61 last season. Castlewood graduated 6-foot-5 wing Brody Bass, so the addition of Kelly is a crucial one for their state championship aspirations.

The Upside Is In The Work: 6-foot-1 2028 South Dakota guard Quinn Rayman is ascending

Spencer Christenson — Sat, 03 Oct 2026 03:10:01 GMT

C3 Exposure met up with 6-foot-1 2028 guard Quinn Rayman of Aberdeen Christian School in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Rayman went through one of his workout routines and C3 Hoops was there to take it in.

Quinn is in his first year at Aberdeen Christian after transferring from Aberdeen Central High School.

Quinn’s stock is ascending up for a couple of reasons. First, from a physical standpoint he has grown 2-3 inches and is up to around the 6’1” mark. I could see the difference instantly as I stood up next to him. He was clearly taller and his frame looked more matured. This gives his overall profile for the next level a nice boost of value.

Quinn’s stock will always be ascending just based off the fact that he’s a consistent worker and lives the game. He’s intently focused on his craft and has worked with individual skill trainers in the area to take his game and knowledge to where it needs to be to reach his goals. He thrives on improvement and the stock ticker will always be pointed up for Quinn.

Quinn goes into a situation at Aberdeen Christian with a class B state title within reach. Quinn could just be that missing piece and give the Aberdeen Christian Knights that extra juice and that extra offensive scoring punch.

Quinn has been known to be a floor-spacing shooter that can open up and space the floor for scorers. But after seeing him recently and up close, I think he offers much more than that in his Junior season. I see Rayman being a go-to scorer and someone that Aberdeen Christian will rely on and look for in important game situations. He’s a different player now and he has the ability to create a bucket for himself and also create opportunities for his teammates with the ball in his hands. A much more well-rounded and dangerous offensive weapon and if Quinn plays with a confident and aggressive mentality, he could be a major problem for class B team defenses.

Quinn has been working and honing his skills for a situation like this. It doesn’t happen overnight, and the build-up of skillwork that Quinn has been putting in the last few years is aligning with the opportunity he has at Aberdeen Christian.

I think it was quite inevitable that Quinn was going to work himself into being a college level prospect through shear hard work and consistency. But the recent growth spurt already has him in that territory to be taken seriously by college programs in the region as a legitimate prospect that can come in be a player.

If you’re a college coach, you know what you’re getting with Quinn Rayman. You’re getting a low maintenance player that will continually be improving on his game and skill.

The upside is in the work.
