Junior guard Michai White has been a highly touted national prospect since he burst onto the scene with St. Benedict’s Prep (NJ), averaging over 20 points per game for the Gray Bees as a freshman. As a sophomore he made the jump to Brewster Academy (NH), where he joined the EYBL Scholastic for one season. Fast forward to this fall, and White has joined coach Ryan Bernardi at Prolific Prep (FL).
I had the opportunity to talk with White about his transition to Prolific Prep, areas of growth, recruitment and more.
Last year as a sophomore, White attended Brewster Academy under Coach Jason Smith where he played alongside talented guards like Michigan State commit Antonio Pemberton, Reece Ayala, & Darien Moore (Seton Hall). White learned a lot and faced much needed adversity during his tenure under Coach Smith.
Due to a coaching change, White’s time at the storied program was short-lived. By the end of the grassroots summer, he announced his move to Prolific Prep (FL).
Prolific Prep currently boasts one of the most talented teams in the country featuring players like 2027 big Lewis Uvwo, 2027 wing Malachi Jordan, 2029 phenom Draydne McDaniel, 2027 Yale commit Preston Echols, 2027 Pacific commit Braxton Keathley, and one of the best 2027 guards nationally in Nasir Anderson.
